Resumo
The Trichotillomania (TTM) is a disease that is to pull or tear themselves periodically hair, resulting in hair loss perceivable in any region of the body being classified as impulse control disorders. The Trichotillomania may occur in any hairy area of the body is more common on the scalp, eyebrows, beard, eyelashes and pubic hair, which causes damage to the emotional and social sphere of the individual. This paper deals is a Quantitative - descriptive study, conducted through an integrative literature review, one of the methods used in Practice -Based Evidence (PBE), allowing the incorporation of evidence in clinical practice. We adopted as Brazilian inclusion criteria items, which correspond to the theme of the study, which contains the selected descriptors : Trichotillomania , Nursing, integrative review, Compulsion and Chronic Disease, published in Portuguese in the last 20 years ( 1994-2014 ). They found 18 articles through the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and selected eight papers to be used in this work. We aimed to know what has been studied, researched and published about Trichotillomania, presented in scientific journals health care in the last 20 years as well as new trends in approach and treatment of this disease in the national and international scene. It was observed that the TTM is an impulse control disorder where the patient presenting this pathology may delay seeking medical help because they feel ashamed in many cases do not accept the disease , making it difficult to diagnosis and treatment for better quality life of the patient . It was concluded that more studies need to be conducted on the subject, as well as more studies in nursing need to be conducted on the practice of care for patients with TTM.
