Abstract
This work aimed at verifying the urban environmental quality of the neighborhoods: Alvorada, Boné Azul, Brasil Novo, Central and Cidade Nova at Macapa city, in State of Amapá-Brazil. For this purpose, the Nucci (2008) methodology was adapted, where seven attributes were analyzed (points of potentially pollution, flood points, demographic density, verticality of buildings, vegetation cover, public leisure spaces and urban infrastructure), for which thematic maps were elaborated that later were overlaid generating the maps of urban environmental quality of each neighborhood. The neighborhoods that showed the best results were in the order: Alvorada, Boné Azul and Central, while the worst were in the order: Cidade Nova and Brasil Novo, therefore, need more attention of the public administration. It is important to emphasize that all five neighborhoods showed some type of problem in relation to the attributes analyzed, and it is necessary to carry out and implement an urban environmental planning for all five neighborhoods studied, in order to improve the environmental and life quality of the population.
