Soil Management and the nutrition of plants and the relationship with occurrence of pests

Estação Experimental de Ituporanga
Inseto nutriente agroecologia.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to contextualize published works on soil management and plant nutrition and its effect on the incidence, development of the biological cycle and damage caused by insect pests in agroecosystems. Soil management and plant nutrition are important factors in determining the occurrence of pests in agroecosystems. Soils with the adoption of ecological management practices areconsidered an important factor in obtaining healthy plants. Plant nutrition according to regional recommendations, combined with the adoption of green and organic fertilization, and no-tillage, can reduce outbreaks of insect pests. Thus, pest management practices should consider interventions carried out on the soil to reduce the use of pesticides in conventional systems, integrated production and ecological inputs in organic agriculture.
