Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of the different nutrient solutions used during the seedling production stage, on the physicochemical quality and bioactive compounds of strawberries from the cultivars Aromas and Camarosa, produced in a soilless system. The experiment was carried out during two cultivation cycles, and in the cycle (2017), the quality of strawberries produced by plants of the cultivars Camarosa and Aromas and the effect of four nutrients solutions (NS): NS1, NS2, NS3 and NS4 used in the mother nursery phase, in 2x4 factorial scheme. In the second cycle (2018), fruits of the same cultivars were evaluated and the effect of two NS (NS3 and NS4) used in seedling production, in a 2x2 factorial scheme. Fruit diameter and length, skin color, soluble solids (SS), pH, titratable acidity (TA), ratio SS/TA, texture, total phenolic compounds, anthocyanins and antioxidant activity were evaluated. The use of different NS in the production phase of the propagules did not influence most of the analyzed variables. Regarding cultivars, in general cv. Camarosa showed physical-chemical and phytochemical parameters that give consumers greater acceptability and benefits for their health, when compared to cv. Aromas.
