To verify whether the implementation of interprofessional care during cardiovascular rehabilitation contributed to reducing the length of hospital stay of patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Observational, cross-sectional study, from consultation in medical records in a reference hospital in the central west of Brazil, during the month of January 2020. Data were stored in Epi Info 7.2 program, through double typing. The analyses were performed using descriptive statistics, obtaining simple frequency and percentage for nominal variables, and minimum, maximum and mean for continuous variables. Fourty two medical records of patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery were accessed before the implementation of interprofessional care, and 50 records of patients undergoing the surgical intervention in question, after the implementation of interprofessional care. There was a positive impact of the implementation of interprofessional assistance to reduce the length of hospital stay of patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery.
