Domestic violence in pregnant women in primary care: Nurse’s role

Abstract: Domestic violence against pregnant women is recognized as a serious public health problem in the country, regardless of human relationships and in the sociocultural context, pregnant women are not free to be victims of violence. This study aims to present the role of nurses in identifying cases of domestic violence in pregnant women in primary care. This is an integrative literature review using the descriptors: Domestic violence, Pregnant women, nurse, Primary health care. The recruitment of full articles took place in July 2022, in the Virtual Health Library, in English and Portuguese from 2017 to 2022. Result: no article recruited portrayed the nursing care provided to women victims of violence during pregnancy in primary care by the professional. Conclusion: The lack of literature on the subject imposes reflections on the role of nurses in primary care, since this assistance exists and is not recorded in the literature, as well as the guarantee of the principles of primary care with regard to the care of women. pregnant women using the Unified Health System.
