Abstract
The main objective of this work is to determine the ITU, ITGU and CTR thermal indices for pigs packaged in a shed at the Universidade Federal de Rondonópolis and recommend possible changes to non-standard indices. In this sense, temperature readings were performed inside the shed and through black globes located in the bays and later, the values of the thermal indices were generated. These indices describe an environment within the limits of thermal stress, being close to the values found by several authors, and it is observed that the Midwest region of Brazil has long periods with high temperatures and low humidity. The values of ITU and ITGU remained within a margin of 5% increase, on the other hand, the CTR presents approximately 15% superiority when compared to the values obtained by other authors, which was confirmed by the Southeast-Northeast location of the shed and incidence of direct radiation inside the most prominent bays, being recommended the extension of the eaves to 1.0m and new measurement and calculation of thermal indices.
